A range of three-dimensional sculpted, carved, moulded, and cast objects are included in the ‘Figure’ category. These include: larger objects such as statues of deities, kings, and rulers of city-states; smaller objects such as canephor figurines or foundation pegs that were included in foundation deposits beneath buildings such as temples; as well as models of human organs used in divination such as liver models. For weights in figural shapes, such as lion weights, see the ‘Weights’ category. For two-dimensional representations on wall scenes, see the ‘Wall Relief’ category, and for those on stelae, obelisks or cliff faces, see ‘Display Inscription’.
